You guys voted, and these are the results of the Junioreurosong.net 2015 poll! With a whopping 35% of the votes, Destiny from Malta won not only the JESC itself but our vote! Lina from Slovenia came in 2nd, with a 3rd place in the real JESC. Not bad! Fans of San Marino might be disappointed in her placing, but at least she did well here!
We got to chat with Jana right before the final. She didn’t speak English but luckily her team was on hand! Sadly for the Montenegro delegation they had many sound problems in the final and the earpiece of Jana was not working. They still managed a respectable performance though, enjoy the interview!
We had the chance to interview Kamila from San Marino. Find out about her Junior Eurovision experience, what she’d do if she were invisible, her funniest moment of the week and hear her sing Polina Gagarina’s Eurovision song!
We’ve been doing some interviews today, we’re very busy but we’ve had time to upload our interview with Lena from Serbia. She didn’t speak English so there is a translated answer after she speaks. She came across as really cute and much younger than she does on stage with her powerful presence.
The stage in Sofia looks great, there’s some amazing lighting and a nice big arena. Unfortunately press cannot stand very close to the stage, however we have still been able to experience the rehearsals nicely. Everyone seems very strong so far, even countries we initially thought might be quite weak have impressed us with their rehearsals. Big contenders have to be Australia, Belarus, Malta, Serbia. Russia and Slovenia, however the winner is very unclear and everyone has a chance. San Marino and Bulgaria both have excellent stage shows which you will all enjoy! I uploaded a video of Wednesday that you can watch below. Also, don’t forget to check out our rehearsal coverage on Facebook!
During the first day of their stay in Sofia, the participants at Junior Eurovision 2015 have had one important task in their schedule – to record the theme song “#Discover” at Studio 1 of Bulgarian National Radio. This was their first activity done together since they arrived in Sofia.
Having a theme song sung by all contestants is already a tradition in Junior Eurovision. This year’s anthem is composed by Evgeny Dimitrov – Maestroto, Vasil Ivanov – Dexter and the director of the show Gordon Bonello. The lyrics are created by Matt Muxu. The seventeen participants will be joined by Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim and the choir of the Bulgarian National Radio. #Discover” is already being played at Terminal 2 of Sofia Airport and in the airplanes of Bulgarian Air. Bring on the show!
That time of year that we’ve all been waiting for is here – EUROWEEK! The big news is that, due to the terrible events in Paris, the opening ceremony has been postponed. The draw will still take place tonight, but in private.
Happy Monday, here’s an interview with Lina from Slovenia!
Hi Lina! How do you feel about the upcoming contest, not long to go! Are you nervous, or just excited
I am nervousciting! Well, which means both nervous and excited! I hope that I will have a good experience in Sofia!
Last year Ula was Slovenia’s first ever representative in JESC. You both have the same songwriters, is this true (Raay)? How close are you, has she given you any advice?
Well I partly and Maraaya partly wrote the music.. the text is writen by me (with a bit of mom help and of course Maraaya)
Yes! Ula and me know each other since I was 5 years old! She is very kind and nice! She gave me a few advices, but I will tell you just one 😉 let other stay hiden. So she said: Don’t bring any lucky charms with you. If you lose them, your performance won’t be as good as it needed to be.
Next up in our 2015 interview series is Misha Smirnov from Russia!
Hello Misha! Thanks for talking to us. Can you tell us what you like to do, besides singing of course.
M: In addition to singing, I act in musical theater. Jim Hawkins in the play “Treasury Island” is one of my roles. Also I write poetry, play football and I am keen on shooting and editing my own mini-videos. I even have my own channel (vlog) on YouTube.
How did you feel when you realised you won the Russian national final? Which was your favourite song (besides yours of course)?
M: Honestly I could not even imagine that! Before the announcement of the results I had been sitting and discussing with my dad what soccer matches we attend the next month. And then suddenly … I had heard that the jury gave me 12 points! And I became a winner! It was very unexpected!
I very like song of Eden Golan «Amazing». https://youtu.be/02AUtn0B8OI
Our next interview is with Mishela Rapo from Albania, read on!
Hi Mishela, first can you tell us a bit about yourself, what are your hobbies?
My music career started when I was eight years old. I’ve been performing in many different stages so far, including national and international, for example in Turkey, Australia, and Albania. I’d like to see my road so far in two different aspects: “Gjeniu i vogël”, as talent show where I reached the final. Then, I grew up in many other stages, always bringing something new, enriching the kids’ song repertory by participating in children festivals. My hobbies include singing, playing guitar and piano, learning foreign languages, etc.
