Serbia – 3.5%
The stage in Sofia looks great, there’s some amazing lighting and a nice big arena. Unfortunately press cannot stand very close to the stage, however we have still been able to experience the rehearsals nicely. Everyone seems very strong so far, even countries we initially thought might be quite weak have impressed us with their rehearsals. Big contenders have to be Australia, Belarus, Malta, Serbia. Russia and Slovenia, however the winner is very unclear and everyone has a chance. San Marino and Bulgaria both have excellent stage shows which you will all enjoy! I uploaded a video of Wednesday that you can watch below. Also, don’t forget to check out our rehearsal coverage on Facebook!
Facebook – lots of amazing photos!
Wednesday: Behind the scenes video!
During the first day of their stay in Sofia, the participants at Junior Eurovision 2015 have had one important task in their schedule – to record the theme song “#Discover” at Studio 1 of Bulgarian National Radio. This was their first activity done together since they arrived in Sofia.
Having a theme song sung by all contestants is already a tradition in Junior Eurovision. This year’s anthem is composed by Evgeny Dimitrov – Maestroto, Vasil Ivanov – Dexter and the director of the show Gordon Bonello. The lyrics are created by Matt Muxu. The seventeen participants will be joined by Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim and the choir of the Bulgarian National Radio. #Discover” is already being played at Terminal 2 of Sofia Airport and in the airplanes of Bulgarian Air. Bring on the show!
That time of year that we’ve all been waiting for is here – EUROWEEK! The big news is that, due to the terrible events in Paris, the opening ceremony has been postponed. The draw will still take place tonight, but in private.
Gabriela Yordanova will now be joined by second-place winner from their national final, Ivan Stoyanov, in representing Bulgaria in this year’s Junior Eurovision. The song is called Цветът на надеждата, or ‘Colours of Hope’, and can be described as an anthemic ballad. Listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9Gtu6w1A9Q
Armenian superstar MIKA released his retro-styled rock entry for Junior Eurovision ‘Love’. It’s a high quality video clip and very different from what any of us were expecting. Hear it at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFlT2Y9YhHY
The Macedonian entry was released. Ivana Petkovska and Magdalena Aleksovska sing ‘Pletenka‘, a song that harks back to the old style JESCs of 2003-2005. Much like Josie in 2014, they must be given praise for writing the song themselves – Magadlena created the music while Ivana wrote the lyrics. As one of the biggest Australian JESC fans, this news was extremely exciting for me. Australia has been allowed to enter Junior Eurovision 2015! The song is a power ballad called ‘My Girls’, written by Delta Goodrem who is one of Australia’s most famous singers. The singer will be Bella Paige, an almost-14 year old singer who was the runner-up on The Voice Kids Australia 2014. She said:
“I couldn’t believe it when I found out I was selected to represent Australia and I’m so excited to be singing my single, My Girls, on a global stage in Bulgaria” said Bella. Co-writer Delta Goodrem added: “I’m so proud to be able to share this special song with Bella for Junior Eurovision. Bella has a phenomenal voice and so much confidence on stage, and I know she is absolutely going to wow Europe with her performance”.

The Georgian entry for Junior Eurovision 2015 has just been released! They’ve gone all out on the video, it’s high quality and very creative, and the song is quite interesting. Elene Kezhrishvili, Lizi Tavberidze, Tako Gagnidze and Data Pavliashvili sing “Dare” in crazy costumes they had a hand in choosing themselves. Giga Khukhianidze once again produced the song and we must commend Georgia on always trying something new in JESC.
